George M. Lee

Practice Areas


George M. Lee's practice is in general civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on business and commercial litigation, the prosecution and defense of trade secret and intellectual property claims, litigation involving telecommunications services, and other technology disputes.  Over the past fifteen years as a civil litigator, Mr. Lee has tried cases involving the misappropriation of trade secrets, the theft of customer data by a business competitor, a malicious prosecution action, and a slander/defamation action.  In his two most recent trials, Mr. Lee successfully defended a client who was accused of fraud with regard to an alleged agreement to invest in real property, and successfully defended a mortgage broker against claims of fraud and civil conspiracy.

Mr. Lee’s federal court experience includes the defense of federal copyright claims in U.S. District Courts, and the representation of creditors in Bankruptcy Court.  Mr. Lee has also represented mortgage brokers named as defendants in bankruptcy adversary proceedings.

Prior to joining the firm of Seiler Epstein Ziegler & Applegate, Mr. Lee was an Assistant District Attorney for the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, where he gained substantial jury trial experience prosecuting criminal cases in San Francisco Superior Court.

Mr. Lee is admitted to the State Bar of California, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California.  He has appeared and argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District.
